Papa Mike (& Grandma Jean) had a farm...

We've had a busy few weeks. Last weekend, we went to Papa and Grandma Guggisberg's, and played with EVERYTHING! Papa swears he has a lot to teach us, and he isn't wasting any time!

If you look closely at this picture, you can see Neela's favorite part of the weekend - a black left eye! Grandma Darlene showed us how to climb on coffee tables, and Papa Mike showed us how to get off them! Let's just say we learned a little too well!

Papa took us for rides on the 4-wheeler. Neela loved it - Kylie didn't! She wouldn't even sit on it when it wasn't moving...
Neela learned how to rev the engine, and went up and down the driveway quite a few times.
Papa and Grandma also have neighbors (Nona and Phil) that have a regular petting zoo on their farm. They let us pet chickens, baby chicks, ducks, ducklings, baby pigeons, pigs, goats, llamas, puppies, ponies, bunnies... You might see a theme as you read what we did.

Here is Neela holding a chicken (Grandma is in the background).

Here is Neela kissing the llama.

Here is Neela petting the baby pigeon.

Neela loved Susie, the pig.

Neela chased the ducks and chickens to the mud hole...

...she was so excited, she followed them in! Daddy took a picture, and Grandma rescued her and rinsed her off in the pig's wading pool!

Here is Daddy, laughing at Kylie, who is scared of the baby pigeon.

Here is Kylie, doing everything she can to avoid touching Susie.

Here is Kylie, quacking like a duck - from a DISTANCE!

Here is Daddy attempting to get Kylie close to Susie.
Here is Kylie with the llama... still not touching anything!

OK - so you probably figured out Kylie was a bit scared, and Neela jumped right in... That happens regularly at our house!

We helped Papa pick corn from his garden. We both learned how to throw it in the pail. We also helped him pick carrots, peppers, and potatoes! Kylie had the most fun getting dirty with the potatoes!
While Papa and Mommy husked the corn, Neela decided to try it.
Kylie kept the corn organized - and eventually tried it!

Here's a group picture with the llama kissing Papa!

When we got home, Mom and Aunt Angie let us finger paint while Daddy mowed the lawn. Neela painted the wall - and Mom and Aunt Angie both said SH#T! Neela repeated it... OOPS!

During the week, we've done a few more fun things! Neela started singing her ABC's - she doesn't get all the letters out, but she does have the melody down -- and now Kylie's singing it, too! We both also LOVE to play ring-around-the-rosie, and hold hands -- but falling down is the most fun! Neela tried to paint her toenails with a crayon today - she must love to be wild, and feminine, all at one time.

This weekend was Woodbury Days. Mom rode in a 10 mile bike ride on Saturday, and Aunt Angie rode 60 miles. Daddy took us to the ball field... Last night, we went and watched the Dweebs perform with our friends, Katie and Reardon. Then we watched fireworks (we got to stay up LATE - and Kylie says fireworks go "POP!"). Today, we went to the park with our friends, Chris, Wendy, Amanda, Matthew & Sarah -- we had a lot of fun going down all the slides... and hope you all had a great weekend, too!

Happy Birthday, Great-Grandma Laura!

Last weekend, we went to Sioux City to celebrate Great-Grandma Laura's birthday - and visit most of Daddy's family! The pictures tell the story, so...

We entertained EVERYONE at the party! Great-Grandma let us play with her balloons -
and we had SOOO much fun!

Grandma had to take us to her candy store - look at all the truffles!

We decided to weigh ourselves - Kylie weighs 24.72 lbs
& Neela weighed in at 25.69 lbs.

Neela helped Grandma rearrange the Jelly Belly stand...
Grandma, Mom, Dad and Cy took us the park by Grandma & Grandpa's house... The slides were hot, so Grandma and Mom took us down.

Grandma & Papa bought us a swimming pool with a sprinkler on - we were so excited to try it out, we didn't care that we still had our pajamas on.

Cy watched us closely from the grass - and snuck in for a drink every once in a while.
Kylie had to show Great-Grandpa here water toys...

We had a really fun trip! We even watched movies in the car. Grandma & Papa E. bought us Barney, and Daddy bought us Elmo... Now we both get in the car, point, and say "Bahhhney".

Have a good weekend! We're off to the farm!

Smart Kids

Kylie and Neela are getting a LITTLE too smart for 17 month olds!! Tonight, while I took some laundry downstairs, the girls got into the crayon drawer, pulled out the paper and ALL the crayons, got it all over to their little table - and started coloring! They were very proud of themselves.

They also like to "check out what's in their diaper" when they are getting changed. At daycare, they are learning "poop yucky" - and they will tell you that!

Kylie is starting to tell everyone what Old McDonald says "E-I-O", and that ducks say "quack!".

Flower Girls

We had a very BIG weekend! Kylie & Neela were flower girls in Mom's cousin, Katy, and her husband, Casey's, wedding on Saturday at St. Kate's! The church had a VERY long aisle, and we both made it down in our own way!

Our festivities started with rehearsal on Thursday night (we skipped the dinner), a bridal luncheon on Friday at Big Bowl (we LOVED the potstickers, egg rolls, Mom's scallops, Mom and Kristine's rice...), we skipped the groom's dinner (we didn't nap), then Saturday was the big day! We were at the church at 1 PM for pictures, the reception was at 6 PM at Jax Cafe, then dancing. We didn't make it to the dancing - Daddy took us home, and Mom stayed with her family. Mom and all of her "Berger Cousins" at the wedding took a picture - at the bar - with Katy on the bar - and drinks in their hands to toast their Irish Grandma!

We took a lot of pictures - some of them are here... and we have to get some from the photographer, cousin Ashley, and more... The pictures are a bit reversed, but we think you'll get the drift.

A family picture

Neela showed NO FEAR running down the aisle! Dad was in the back of church, and Mom was luring her up front! Little Clare (the other 17 month old flower girl) is in the background, and she sprinted just as fast!

Then, there was Kylie. It took some coaxing from the ushers for Kylie to make it to the front. The usher behind Kylie is Mom's cousin, Sean.
At the reception, we posed by some stained glass windows. We both thought they were pretty.

Some pictures before the ceremony... With Uncle Tony, Daddy and Papa G...Neela & Papa G.

In the morning before the wedding, we showed Papa G. and Aunt Heidi our swimming pool. We really liked dumping cups of water on them, and telling the m stories.
We had the most photographed butts at any wedding - EVER! Check out our diaper covers Mom's friend Maggie made! We also had purple bibs with the same message.

Have a great week! We plan to sleep all week to catch up from all the partying!!
