Neela's a SUPERSTAR (again!)

This week, it's Neela's turn to be the Super Star!  We dropped Brooke off at Tracy's again, then headed to Kowalski's for doughnuts for breakfast :-)

Neela wanted to wear a dress - and Kylie wanted to dress like Neela - so they were very "twin like" as they got ready!

Neela ran into the room, signed her name - and bolted for the chair in the front!

She also let Kylie join her in the front, and took a picture with her sister.  Unlike Kylie, Neela called on lots of other kids first -- Kylie always called on Neela before anyone else.

After singing the Super Star song, Neela put her sticker on her shirt...

... and showed off her special items...
She was asked to bring one or two, she brought 3!

Her first was her Minnie Mouse ears...

Next came her Disneyland photo book...
Mommy said she had to pick one picture to share - Mrs. Rose let her share a few more :-)

The last item was her hockey puck with Pierre-Marc Bouchard's "Spin-o-rama" goal on it.  She told everyone this came from Bonnie and Hambone -- and she knows Mrs. Rose loves hockey :-)  Daddy left right from Super Star day for the airport -- the letter of the week is "O", and Daddy was flying to "Oklahoma!".  For Neela's Super Star supper, we had pizza at home :-)

Neela was the Super Star on Monday and Friday -- so she had to wait a little bit between her Super Star days.  Mommy went with on Friday - and we had some more silly practice in the hallway...

Neela helped everyone learn her name - after she corrected a little boy that her shirt was a "Cyclone" shirt (in the picture), not a "Gopher" shirt :-)

On her poster, she was good at hopscotch, biking and riding her scooter.  She colored the border green because Mrs. Rose loves the Wild (and therefore, green!).

Neela shared her Super Star week with Emma - they had a lot of fun sitting together up front, and putting on their Super Star stickers!

Next week... do you think Brooke should get a turn as a "Super Star?"  If you ask Tracy and Jeff, Brooke told them it's "Stupid Star" - not "Super Star" - and "No, thank you!"

Summer comes early... Shorts in March - in Minnesota???

Saturday morning, we went to take our 5 year pictures.  Then, we went home and PLAYED OUTSIDE... in SHORTS... in MINNESOTA... in MARCH!  It felt like summer - and everyone outside sure acted like it was summer!

We practiced riding our bikes, riding our scooters, using sidewalk chalk, blowing bubbles... we decided to dig for worms in Mommy's flower bed... (the hats were because the sun was so bright)...

...then we needed to take a break because we were so hot!

We convinced Daddy to get out the bean bag toss game, and sang Mickey Mouse's bean bag song to remember all the rules of throwing during the game.  We even sent Aunt Renee funny messages because it was SNOWING in California while we were playing in the sun!!

After we ran out of "fun" in the front yard, we moved to the backyard -- and spent a few hours playing on our swing set.  Most of the time, it was "Bucky" (the pirate ship), Brooke was "Cubby" reading her map of Neverland, Kylie was "Izzy" sprinkling pixie dust on everyone so they could fly, Neela was "Jake", and Mommy was "Peter Pan".  When Daddy came around, he was Captain Hook or Captain Morgan -- depending on where Cubby thought we were :-)  Neela and Kylie also enjoyed playing parrots on a perch, and repeating "everything" anyone said to them.

To end the night, we had a picninc on the deck with Nicole and Brian.  It was a great night to be outside - we even had a few mosquitos show up to make it really feel like summer!!

(Oh.. but Daddy said it's supposed to be 30 for a high sometime next week, so we didn't put ALL of our winter stuff away yet -- just a few things!)

Kylie's a SUPERSTAR (again)!

At Little Angels, every child gets to be a "Super Star" twice during the school year.

The week after Spring Break was Kylie's turn to be the Super Star... on "Go Green" Day!  Kylie was very excited to create her Super Star poster, and find new things to bring to school in her Super Star bag.  On the morning of her first Super Star day, Mommy dropped Brooke off - and Mommy and Daddy took the "big" girls out for breakfast at Panera.  We all had yummy bagels - then headed to school!

Kylie waited patiently outside the classroom to get in - then signed in on the wall - before claiming her spot on the Super Star chair.

She also did some of her "trademark" poses for Daddy while waiting for her classmates...

... and even took a few minutes to pose with Neela before getting started...

After everyone sang the "Super Star" song, and Kylie got her sticker, she showed off her special items.  Kylie chose to bring her Cindarella tiara and her picture with Cinderella to show the class.

For supper that night, we went out for dinner.  All 3 girls had pizza, and the restaurant provided free ice cream for dessert!  Everyone really enjoyed it!

For Day 2, Daddy was traveling, so Mommy took the girls to school.  We ate breakfast at home (colored pancakes, of course!), then headed in.  While we waited in the hallway, we took a few silly pictures.

Since this is the second Super Star edition, each child gets one day - and a shared day - with the other Super Star from the week.  Kylie shared her week with Vincent.  The both got to sit in front, spell their names, get stickers, and talk about their "Stuff I'm good at" posters!

Kylie's poster had pictures of her riding her bike and roller skating... she also said she was a good big sister, because she let Brooke help with her picture!  She put a picture of herself in Daddy's fire gear on the poster, and colored the frame red because it's "Mommy's favorite color!".

While Mrs. Rose asked questions, and Vincent called on people, Kylie helped her classmates find the answer to the "letter" questions on the name posters!

Kylie had a great week... and next week, we'll have another Super Star in our house!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

It was an amazing St. Patrick's Day!!  We started our "green" preparations early - with a green manicure and pedicure, complete with gold sparkles on top on Friday night.

Saturday morning, we got up and started celebrating.  Aunt Angie surprised us by coming for breakfast.  We were already dressed, and had our shamrock and "gold honey pot" tattoos on!  Breakfast was green pancakes - we each made our own bowl, and we even licked the spatulas!

The mischievous leprechauns showed up over night - and our milk magically turned green!  It matched our pancakes, but that little leprechaun did not know how to make the strawberries green.

After breakfast, we took turns going to Brenda's to get our hair cut.  After we finished our hair, we styled it for St. Patrick's Day... with the green feathers from Grandma Banana, and the green hairspray we asked Mommy for.  Corina also wanted some green hairspray - so we were all dressed up for the day.

We had to take a few "Corrigan" / "Berger" / "Guggisberg" / "Estochen" girl pictures before we could head out to celebrate for the day!

We left our house - and made a pits top at the fire department... While we waited for Daddy's mask testing, we took a few more pictures.  We could not figure out how to all hold still and smile at the same time.

Our surprise for the day... we were headed into downtown St. Paul -- into St. Patrick's Day chaos -- and to the Wild game!  We had lunch at the game - then headed to our seats.  We had so much fun cheering for the Wild - and we got a special treat of ice cream in hockey helmets during the 2nd period.

After the game, we came home and played outside.  Our supper was corned beef... Mommy and Daddy had sauerkraut, and we had grilled sandwiches :-)

Before bed, we had to show off Daddy's shamrock tattoo.  Wow - Daddy has BIG muscles!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone!!  We LOVE to be GREEN!

(And we know we made "Big Grandma Berger" and "Grandma Banana" very proud today!)

Neela's Special Day with Mommy

It was Neela's turn to GO WILD and head to the Xcel Energy Center for a WILD hockey game!

Neela decided she wanted Mommy to take her... it was so beautiful outside, we didn't even need to wear jackets to the game!

We walked in the gate, and Neela was on a mission to have popcorn and a tattoo ASAP!  She knew Kylie had both two weeks earlier, and did not want to miss out on her opportunity.

Neela selected "Nordy" (the Wild mascot) for her tattoo... and she had to have a little glitter on her tattoo, as well!

Neela managed to eat almost the entire tub of popcorn - way more than Mommy and Kylie ate.  Then, she wanted a hot dog and french fries.  Neela had the hot dog, Mommy had chicken and shared her french fries.  While we were eating, a few surprise visitors stopped by - Bonnie and Hambone were at the game!  (They gave us all our Wild gear - and Bonnie loves to sing the Wild anthem with us.)

Neela ate a lot already, but somehow managed to save room for an ice cream cone -- and she kept getting her nose in the ice cream.  She looked pretty silly by the end of the cone!

The game was pretty slow, but Neela finally had something to cheer about close to the end of the game... she had her pom poms and megaphone ready for the goals!

The big ending for Neela came over night... all that crazy food did not sit well in her stomach.  She did not make it to the bathroom, but she did get to spend an entire day at home playing with Daddy to "recover" from hockey!!

Time with Daddy

Mommy finally got brave, with some nudging from Aunt Renee, and headed out west for a 5 day "Mommy" break with David and Renee.

While Mommy was gone, Daddy had all kinds of fun with us... Of course, Mommy accidentally took all the camera memory cards with her - so Daddy did not get too many pictures, but here's what we did... as retold to Mommy!

Tracy was closed on Friday, so Daddy took Kylie and Neela to preschool... then he took Brooke shopping.

We made it to Lookout Ridge for some climbing.  We all climbed all the way to the top - and did NOT get scared.  Kylie made a new friend, Elise, while they were playing...  (Kylie has been working on making new friends every place she goes - and that's probably why Kylie asked to be in a separate kindergarten class in the fall!)

We had waffles for breakfast... a Saturday staple... but when Daddy cooks, we get "plain" waffles -- not the colored ones like Mommy makes :-)  We played "Go Fish" with Daddy, played on the Wii, and just plain played with Daddy!  On Saturday night, we rented "Winnie the Pooh", and had movie night.  Daddy even let us have popcorn with M&Ms!!

On Sunday, we asked Daddy if we could go to church.  We made it to Guardian Angels, but Brooke did not want to cooperate.  Daddy had to take her to the crying room - and he left the "big" girls sitting where he could see them, with a few grown-ups keeping an eye on them.  Daddy received lots of compliments on our behaviour after church.  He learned we sang ALL the songs (or tried!), and we behaved very well... Mommy and Daddy wonder if they need to sit a few pews back all the time!

We did so well at church, Daddy set up a nail salon in his bathroom.  He did not realize Mommy had so many colors of paint -- and neither did we!  We tried a little bit of everything... orange, pale pink, hot pink, purple, green... you name it!  We each had our own turn in the bathroom - and that gave our nails plenty of time to dry!

The biggest news of our trip.. Brooke spent almost EVERY night in her bed - all night, every night!  She ended up in Mommy and Daddy's bed most mornings, but was much better in her bed than when Mommy is home.  Way to go, Brooker Bear!
