Mommy finally got brave, with some nudging from Aunt Renee, and headed out west for a 5 day "Mommy" break with David and Renee.
While Mommy was gone, Daddy had all kinds of fun with us... Of course, Mommy accidentally took all the camera memory cards with her - so Daddy did not get too many pictures, but here's what we did... as retold to Mommy!
Tracy was closed on Friday, so Daddy took Kylie and Neela to preschool... then he took Brooke shopping.
We made it to Lookout Ridge for some climbing. We all climbed all the way to the top - and did NOT get scared. Kylie made a new friend, Elise, while they were playing... (Kylie has been working on making new friends every place she goes - and that's probably why Kylie asked to be in a separate kindergarten class in the fall!)
We had waffles for breakfast... a Saturday staple... but when Daddy cooks, we get "plain" waffles -- not the colored ones like Mommy makes :-) We played "Go Fish" with Daddy, played on the Wii, and just plain played with Daddy! On Saturday night, we rented "Winnie the Pooh", and had movie night. Daddy even let us have popcorn with M&Ms!!
On Sunday, we asked Daddy if we could go to church. We made it to Guardian Angels, but Brooke did not want to cooperate. Daddy had to take her to the crying room - and he left the "big" girls sitting where he could see them, with a few grown-ups keeping an eye on them. Daddy received lots of compliments on our behaviour after church. He learned we sang ALL the songs (or tried!), and we behaved very well... Mommy and Daddy wonder if they need to sit a few pews back all the time!
We did so well at church, Daddy set up a nail salon in his bathroom. He did not realize Mommy had so many colors of paint -- and neither did we! We tried a little bit of everything... orange, pale pink, hot pink, purple, green... you name it! We each had our own turn in the bathroom - and that gave our nails plenty of time to dry!
The biggest news of our trip.. Brooke spent almost EVERY night in her bed - all night, every night! She ended up in Mommy and Daddy's bed most mornings, but was much better in her bed than when Mommy is home. Way to go, Brooker Bear!
