It's been a busy two years - we've grown and learned so much, Mom & Dad can hardly believe we're 2!! We celebrated the day by taking treats to daycare. It was so nice out (40 degrees!) we got to take Cy for a walk in the stroller when we came home. Then, we went to Green Mill with Mommy, Daddy and Aunt Angie for pizza, strawberry applesauce (that's what Neela is licking out of the cup), and ice cream with whipped cream and strawberries!

We talked to a lot of people on the phone today - but didn't get everyone called back, and ran out of talking power when Aunt Heidi called! Ms. Bonnie and Hambone stopped over with gifts for us - they brought us cute little Snowbabies in a bubble bath with a rubber duck! We thought they were so cute - especially because we just got out of a bubble bath! Sandy and Sydney gave us bubble machines - we were so excited by the puppy and the hippo, Mom & Dad didn't even tell us they were bubble machines!

Of course, it's been a while since we updated our blog. We'll try to give you a little background on what's been keeping us SO busy! Let's work our way backwards... over the last 2 weeks, everyone in the house except Cy has been recovering from some sort of cold or flu bug. We stayed home from daycare for 2 1/2 days to try to recover, and Mom & Dad keep sneaking in naps, Nyquil, Sudafed... We are all on the mend now - but we might be teething too! (Mom's not too sure - but she's using Oragel anyway!)
On President's Day, we stayed home with Daddy. We got to help him wash his car (Daddy Car All Wet) at the fire station (Big Truck, Big Steps, Orange (?) Truck, Big Truck All Clean!). Then, we went to swimming lessons - Neela is very adventurous in the pool - monkeying along the wall, jumping to Mom & Dad, blowing bubbles, floating, chasing toys... and Kylie is a bit more cautious. She likes to be in the water, but is not the best at getting her face in yet - she loves to jump in, and will jump to the teacher (Neela won't). After swimming, Mom & Dad tried a divide and conquer. Until now, Mom had been taking both girls in the women's locker rooms to get dressed after class - this week, Kylie went with Daddy and Mommy went with Neela. Both of us got to try out the showers - it was fun to shower in our swimsuit, even though we got tricked into putting our back and head under the water while Mommy & Daddy held us! We talked about "Mommy Neela shower" and "Daddy Kylie shower" all the way home!!!
On Sunday, we went to watch Aunt Angie play in a broomball tournament. Aunt Angie was "running" and "blue shirt", and chasing the "orange ball". She also was playing "hockey". We were her biggest fans. Here's a picture of us finally finding the best vantage point (20 seconds left of the game).
For Valentine's Day, things were low key. We went to Little Gym - and stayed home the rest of the day. Daddy was getting our cold - we all had fish for supper, exchanged cards, and just had fun playing at home.
The weekend before (Feb 6-9), Grandma, Papa & Uncle Chuckie came to visit. We went to Little Gym with them, then shopping at Sam's Club. After Sam's Club, we were really tired - and still not feeling 100% (Grandma NOW has our cold!!). We slept a lot the rest of the day. Sunday was a BIG day! We went to the Wild game with Grandma, Papa, Uncle Chuckie, Mom & Dad - the Wild won in a shoot out! We got to high-5 Charlie Brown before the game, and tried our share of nachos and mini-donuts. After the game, we headed to TGIFridays for supper - we enjoyed all the decorations on the wall - almost more than the pizza we got for supper!
As you saw on our previous post, February 1 was a big day for us - the Steelers won the Super Bowl! We are still saying "Steelers Super Bowl" - and last week, we were confusing the Wild and the Steelers - "Red Steelers" on TV. We had some friends, Chris, Wendy, Amanda, Matt & Sarah, come over and watch the game with us - and we tried very hard to get them to wear Black & Gold. Grandma & Papa had a BIG party in Sioux City - and Aunt Angie even wore a Steelers shirt to a party (of course, she did live in the Steelers room for 6 months - that should make her a fan!).
The two weeks before that are a bit of a blur... we spent time in Sioux City with our grandparents watching the AFC Championship game, going to a Muskateers hockey game, meeting Uncle Chuckie's friends' baby girl, and getting to know all the relatives much better. After Sioux City, we went to the farm - and played a lot! Papa took us to get our haircut - he trimmed our bangs really short so we could see (Mommy says he's never liked long bangs!). We also got to visit the bike shop. The "big trade" happened at Chuck-E-Cheese in Sioux Falls -- we had so much fun convincing the Papas we needed tokens for rides... we just like to sit on them right now, but we think the Papas had more fun than we did!!
Of course, while we were touring the countryside, Mom & Dad were touring the Caribbean! (Mommy, Daddy, Boat Water - Mommy, Daddy Go Airplane!) They took a 7 day/7 night cruise to celebrate their 10 year anniversary (coming up in June). They watched the AFC Championship and Presidential inauguration aboard the Carnival Triumph under bright blue skies with a lot of sun (while we got to be cold at home!). Their boat stopped in 3 ports - San Juan, St. Thomas and St. Maarten. In San Juan, they took a sunset walking tour of the old parts of the city - after the sunset :-) In St. Thomas, they took a tour bus (actually, a modified F450 with 4 rows of seats in the bed) around the island, to Magan's Bay beach, and to Blackbeard's castle. In St. Maarten, they took an island tour by bus and boat across both the Dutch and French sides of the island. They shopped in the French capital (French pastries!) and the Dutch capital (Daddy bought Mommy diamond earrings for their anniversary, Valentine's Day, birthday... and a Coach purse!). They also sampled the Guavaberry liquor - only made in St. Maarten, and Daddy found a few cigars that were too good to pass up! On board the boat, the spent a lot of time in the sun, swimming pools, and enjoying the food!! Mommy really loved the "Carnival Classic Warm Chocolate Melting Cake". The shows were amazing - and they made some new friends from Idaho and California.
That about sums things up... We hope you've enjoyed the last month - and are very excited for our Jungle Adventure birthday party this Saturday at Grandma & Papa's - with Grandma's "Likon" (Lion) cakes and cupcakes!
Here's to 2!
