Woodbury Days

What a weekend! We couldn't have fit anything more in if we tried!!

On Friday night, Mom & Dad went to listen to the band at Woodbury Days - and we went to Danielle and Dominique's house! We swam in their hot pool, then went to play at Reardon's house (across the street), then back to their house to fall asleep on their couch.

Saturday, we met Mommy's friends, Jennifer & Jon, for breakfast at the Woodbury Cafe. We had fun walking around giving all the statues high 5's! We came home to drop Mommy off (she needed a nap!), and Daddy took us to the fire station. He was cleaning up the chainsaw he used to chop down the wind-blown tree, and we got to join in on a birthday party! We got cupcakes - with LOTS of frosting - sandwiches, and chips! When we came home, Neela stayed with Mommy - and Kylie went with Daddy. Neela helped Mommy do laundry, and they did lots of puzzles. Kylie helped Daddy take Hambone's chainsaw back to the baseball field - and got to ride in Hambone's red truck to the parking lot.

After a late afternoon nap, we headed back to Woodbury Days at the park. Danielle and Dominique came with us - and helped take us on lots of carnival rides. We tried the carousel -- we thought it was great until it started moving. Neela was all smiles, and Kylie wouldn't let go of Danielle as big tears rolled down her face. (Of course, today - I went "up and down, up and down, up and down, up and down..." -- and I didn't cry Mommy!) Then, we went on the purple truck - we had to ride together, it was way more fun than driving two trucks! After that, it was off to the giant slide -- Kylie went down first with Danielle, and Neela went down next with Dominique. For our last ride, Neela rode the Ferris Wheel -- Hi Everyone on the ground! Hi Mommy! Hi Daddy! Kylie took one look, and asked to go back and drive the trucks again!

When we finished up all our tickets, we got a very late supper while we listened to music, and waited for the fireworks. We "popped" every one of them, and watched them on the ground. They were all really pretty - and we were not ready to go home when it got done!

Today was the big parade! Mommy did a little too much yesterday, so we left her home - and rode in the yellow fire truck with Daddy! Daddy let us sing songs on the microphone - and we got a lot of applause as we drove down the street singing "Twinkle, Twinkle" and "Take Me Out to the Ballgame!". Mommy got a text from the parade that we weren't in our carseats - but we DID have fun!

At the fire station - after the parade...

We are starting week 2 in big girl panties - and we're doing pretty well in them! We love to wear Dora, Elmo and polka dots :-)

Have a great week!

Great to be a "Guggisberg"

Last weekend, we spent the entire weekend with Papa Guggisberg's family (and our's!) in New Ulm at the Guggisberg family reunion!

We met a lot of our relatives - and Papa was very proud of Kylie's middle name (Rose) - it was his Grandma's middle name.

We hung out at a campground with all the relatives, including lots of Mommy's cousins and their kids, for lunch and the afternoon -- and we fell in love with the teeter-totter, swings, etc. Uncle Tony's arms got a workout helping Neela on all the playground equipment! After that, we took a little tour around New Ulm - we got to see our Great-great-great-great Grandpa & Grandma's gravesite, original homesite and barn they built. Kylie slept through most of it - but Neela wouldn't miss it! For those wondering, our tree is Kylie/Neela - Mommy - Papa - Leon - Bill - Fred - Gottleib...

Of course, our favorite part of the weekend happened to be the poolside rooms at the Holiday Inn. We were the first one's in when it opened every morning! Neela loved the cold pool, and Kylie loved the hot pool -- and we really loved using our "Nemo" floaties in both pools! We also got to stay with Grandma and Papa in a room connected to Mommy & Daddy...

It was a great "end of summer" trip - but Mommy says no more car rides until after the baby!

Another Fun Week

We had another busy week - no pictures, but lots of fun!

On Tuesday, Aunt Angie came over for supper. She helped Mommy put us to bed - and we got to play a lot with her :-) We also met some of the other kids on the block - they loved our roller coaster, and we loved their motorized scooters we drove around the cul-de-sac.

On Wednesday, we went to a party at Mommy & Daddy's college friend's house (Greg). We really wanted to play in his neighbor's backyard, but we managed to do OK - we didn't break anything, and we played with our soccer balls on his deck (it's a very nice deck!).

On Friday, Daddy picked us up early from daycare so we could go to Mommy's doctor's office. The doctor, receptionist and nurses wanted to see how big we were - they hadn't seen us in almost 2 years! They were very happy we could stop by -- and then Daddy took us to Dairy Queen for ice cream! He's such a nice guy :-)

After Dairy Queen, we changed into our swimsuits -- and headed to "Reardon's Pool". We swam for 3 hours, ordered pizza at the pool, and LOVED the toddler pool... we didn't want to leave, but the pool was closing! We even saw our swimming lesson instructor there -- she was one of the lifeguards!

On Saturday, Daddy went golfing - so we spent the day at home with Mommy. We played outside with our bubbles, did puzzles, and napped on our Elmo couches. Dominique and Danielle stopped by to play - so Mommy managed to unpack a few more things for the baby (she's down to finding blankets, finding the bottle warmer, hanging a few decorations, and packing bags for the hospital... as well as buying a few new items for the little one!).

Saturday night, we went to dinner with Papa, Grandma, Angie and Eric at Famous Dave's! We ate EVERYTHING - the corn dogs, french fries, corn, cookies... then we went back to Angie's and entertained everyone with our monkey faces, sharing Angie's "kiddy" chair, bouncing on Daddy and Papa, dancing, and checking for new teeth with the flashlights.

Today, we "matched Mommy". We went and took pictures with Mommy for the baby's room. Then, we also took a few pictures of our own since we will be 2 1/2 years old tomorrow!! We wore jeans and white shirts, and so did Mommy! Afterwards, we went to a party at Dominique and Danielle's to celebrate some successes at Mommy's work. We got to play in the jumpy thing and go swimming. Kylie fell asleep on the grass - and then didn't get to jump as much as she wanted... Daddy said the jumping thing got a hole in it from a bird eating it - and it needs to get fixed. We'll have to play with it again some time!

Have a good week! Love, Kylie & Neela

It's Party Time!!

Summer in Minnesota always seems to bring out the parties! Parties for work, with family, with friends, with neighbors... and the cool weather this summer has NOT stopped a thing! We've been busy partying almost every weekend - and keeping Mom & Dad jumping! We LOVE to party, so every day we are asking if we can go to another party!

Where do we start? July 23rd was Mommy's Work Party. They had a Wild, Wild West theme, a jump house, a "pony", and we got cowboy hats, bandanas, and Sheriff's badges. Mommy left her camera at home, but one of her co-workers got some great pictures of Kylie doing things. On the other hand, Neela was WAY TOO busy trying everything out to be photographed!

July 24th was a party at Danielle and Dominique's (some of our new babysitters). Danielle and Dominque have a pool in their backyard, and they took us in the pool, down the slide, on floaties - everything. Mommy's only rule was we had to wear our life jackets! (Did we mention Danielle and Dominique were also at Mommy's work party?? They played with us on everything, so Mommy & Daddy ran "Dip a Duck" games instead!)

The Berger Family Picninc was July 26th at Aunt Carol & Uncle Mark's. We had a lot of fun playing with cousin Caroline's toys (she was supposed to be napping, but it didn't work very well). Cousin Brian (and later Cousin Patrick) played with us on the climber and with the foam puzzle/letters. We showed them both the letters for our name, their name, and anyone else we knew! (Cousin Brian & Patrick more spotted us than played with us -- but it worked quite well!) Brian and Daddy also took us down on the dock so we could see the ducks! Daddy had a great time - he and Aunt Carol were the champions in the Bean Bag Toss. Everybody swears Daddy practices all the time (he plays once a year), but we think it's from him chasing us everywhere :-) We loved the bean bags, too - and got to play when everything was done. We also loved the deck railing - but couldn't decide if monkey faces or climbing the deck rail was more fun!

The next weekend was our first Block Party in our new neighborhood! We met all kinds of people - there are a lot of kids here, some our age and many just a little bit older. They helped us climb up and down in the bounce house (we love these things - that might have to be on a wish list in a year or two!). We also got to show off our Daddy the Firefighter! The fire truck, ambulance and police car came to the Block Party - and Daddy rode in on the truck! He got to run the lights and sirens, and Mommy made us wait until everything was setup before we could talk to him. We had to SHARE the truck, but that was OK... We also got to drive the ambulance, and try out Daddy's helmet while Firefighter Lisa and Firefighter Cory helped us. Daddy would have helped, but he was "up high" (76 feet up in the ariel) taking pictures of all of the houses in the neighborhood - and the party on the ground.

We've had some more visitors at our new house, too. Bonnie & Hambone stopped by, Jennifer (Mommy's friend from Austin, Texas), Grandma & Papa G. have been here a few times... And, we are really beginning to hang out with all the kids in the neighborhood!

Yesterday, we went to the Minnesota Zoo! We saw flamingos, bears, monkeys, giraffes, zebras, dolphins, fish, pigs... We saw some of them on the ground - and some from the "train" (monorail). We were headed to see a few more things in person, but got a bit too tired to go further! Grandma, Papa and Angie were coming for supper - and we wanted to nap before they got here (we didn't nap, but...).

In the Zoo Flower Garden

Neela thinks about giving the bear a High 5

We played while the bears napped...

Playing in the Dolphin Water Fountain...

Today, we went to McDonald's for breakfast with Papa, Grandma and Angie. Then, we went to Aunt Angie's with Grandma and Angie (we got BLUE ice cream!) while Mom, Dad and Papa finished putting the garage back together! (Pretty soon, we'll be able to have a party of our own!) After that, we took a nap - then Grandma & Papa went home, and we went to Dick's Pool (a firefighter friend of Daddy's). We had LOTS of fun in the pool!
We wanted to show off our tower building capabilities... Daddy says we're future engineers!

Love,

Kylie & Neela
