Lake Memories 2013: Day 5

On Wednesday morning, Daddy tried out a new golf course.  Kylie went shopping for a while with Mommy.  Neela and Brooke stayed at the resort to play :-)  They went for a short bike ride, and helped Terrick and Brooke work on riding two wheel bikes.  Terrick got a new bike... and they came back to ride some more!

When Mommy and Kylie got back, it was time to swim!  We put on our suits, found some new inflatable toys, and headed out by the slides and trampoline.  Mommy wanted us to pose like we did when we were younger - we could not quite do the same thing, but we did enjoy making all kinds of crazy faces :-)

When Daddy got back, he helped us build a sandcastle.  Many of the other kids at the resort thought it was pretty cool, so they joined in, too!

The sand castles got boring, so Daddy started to bury us...

Then, Mommy convinced us to climb in the tree (again).  It's not too hard to convince us - the tree is really cool!!

And... back to the lake and the trampoline!  Aunt Heidi, Aunt Angie and Terrick woke up from their naps to bounce with us!

The kayaks got used again, too!  This time, Kylie and Neela tried it alone - while Grandma and Aunt Angie helped out.  With calmer waters, and more practice rowing, they did an awesome job!!

For dinner, we helped Mommy and Daddy make campfire meals with potatoes, carrots and hamburger... and some sweet corn on the side :-)  They turned out pretty well, but we were not too sure we'd try them again soon... however, the s'mores later were an entirely different story!

Lake Memories 2013: Day 4

Today started with a fun breakfast - and a pile on top of Aunt Heidi!

Then, we took our new bikes for a test ride... with lots of people following along!  We rode for 7 miles - with a few water break stops.  Our new bikes work great!

Brooke rode behind Mommy the entire time - and they practiced shaking their tail feathers at everyone they passed :-)

When we got back, Aunt Angie took Brooke to one of her favorite places - the hammock.  They rocked a bit, and also showed off their matching toenails!

Neela decided to give kayaking another chance - with Mom in the boat with her.  They did some big circles in the area near the dock, with Neela learning by holding onto the paddle.

After posing in the tree for some twin sister pictures, Kylie headed into the lake in a kayak with Grandma.  Brooke jumped in with Grandma after a while, too.

Then, Kylie decided to do a little fishing...

While the Brooke napped, Mommy, Kylie, Neela, Talon and Grandma loaded up the boat to go tubing. Grandma tested out her driving on Mommy, then Neela tubed a bit before Kylie joined her.  The twins did not make it after the first "Go", and did NOT want to tube again!!  After we fell off, Mommy tried out her water skiing abilities.  It was the first time Mommy water skiied in over 7 years -- probably 10!!  Mommy got out of the water on the 3rd try, and water skiied around the lake a couple times before falling down by the dock.

After Brooke woke up, she wanted to go again!  This time, Mommy, Daddy and Aunt Angie went with.  Brooke could not wait to tube... and climbed right out on the tube with Mommy.  Mommy "accidentally" fell off, so Brooke got to do a lot of tubing by herself!

Then, Mommy skiied again - and Angie went a few times, too.  Brooke thought it was amazing -- and enjoyed it even more when she got to drive the boat with Daddy after they dropped everyone else off!

To end the day, look at this amazing sunset...

Lake Memories 2013: Day 3

It's Aunt Angie's birthday today!!!  We tried to let her sleep - but she was as excited as we were to get up and celebrate!  First, Brooke gave her a big hug and snuggles...

...then, Angie and Brooke went to work making one of Angie's favorites for breakfast -- PANCAKES!  Of course, a little fruit was added to give them color... we left the food coloring at home!

After breakfast, everyone did a bit of their own thing.  We played outside for a while... then we headed into town.  When we got to town, we had a SURPRISE!  We were getting new "BIG" bikes to ride on at Jake's Bikes! (We were also impressed we could read the sign!)  After a few trades, we left with two 20" bikes and one 16" bike... and biking lessons in the parking lot!

Then, we made a stop at the golf course.  We practiced chipping and putting...

...then challenged Daddy to a putting and chipping contest.  We won, of course!

We couldn't leave without practicing our victory moves... what do you think?  Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Sergio Garcia in training?

When we got back to the resort, we could not WAIT to test drive our new bikes!  They have kick stands!!! Oh, and hand brakes, and they are tall enough for us to ride without having to do a lot of extra work :-)

It got a little overcast, so we spent much of the night inside.  We played checkers - Neela and Kylie's game has improved since they played against Talon at Easter.  They can now beat him when he's TRYING -- he said he needs to practice up for next time!  We also tried some of the Pop Rocks Grandma Candy got us... what fun!

While we got cleaned up, Aunt Angie had a plan... she painted everyone's nails... especially if you were a little person :-)

Then, we FINALLY got to have her cake!  It only took the entire day to eat the cake!

Then... onto Movie Night!  We watched Ratatoullie on the "fold out bed".  It was like a slumber party :-)
What do you think we will do tomorrow?

Lake Memories 2013: Day 2

The morning started out with a big breakfast, followed by a trip to the dock.. for fishing, of course.  A few of us were more excited than the others - but we all generally enjoyed the experience.  We had some help from Papa, Daddy...

...and Aunt Angie taught Brooke a few things about sitting still long enough for the fish to bite...

Of course, you could not stop Brooke when the fish DID bite - she had her own "fish dance" she did all the way across the dock!!

Kylie could not be kept off the dock!  She found a new fishing partner in Talon, and stayed busy all day keeping up with him... he helped her catch a few big fish - and enjoyed every minute learning about fishing from him.

In the afternoon, we had more cousins arrive to visit - Lauren and Drew.  They played in the sand, on the beach...

... and on the bouncy water trampoline, too!

The parents, Aunts and Uncles watched a bit - and enjoyed a chance to sit outside in the sunshine at the beginning of a fun-filled week!

That evening, we found the hammock... how many "little people" do you think we can fit in the hammock?  And, do you think we can meet enough new friends to push us in the hammock?

Then, it was time for ice cream sundaes!  We had strawberry topping, chocolate topping, caramel AND whipped cream.... yummy!!!
