It has been 2 years (or more) since we ventured to Alexandria for the Guggisberg Family Vacation. Usually, we go for 3 or 4 days - this year, we headed North for a week! We had so much stuff, we had to drive TWO cars. (Actually, the bike rack only works on Dad's car - and the golf clubs fit nicely in the back!) Kylie rode with Daddy, and Neela and Brooke rode with Mommy. About 5 miles from the resort, Mommy's car made a new friend - a full-grown turkey flew out of the road ditch, and right into Mommy's windshield! It only hit the windshield - and it made a MESS! There were even turkey feathers stuck in the windshield when we stopped... what a SMASHING start to our vacation!
And, no... we did not save it for turkey dinner on vacation.
While the grown-ups unloaded, we decided to check out the water. It was not very warm, but we did not care - we were at the lake with our cousins!!
Talon started fishing, and pretty soon we were all hooked on sitting at the dock! Papa and Daddy stayed busy with hooks, bait, casting, repairing, ... you know, grown-up things! We just watched our bobbers - and caught some sunnies, bluegills and bass :-)
Kylie did not feel well for most of the afternoon, so she rested quite a bit. When it was time for the bonfire, she was feeling a bit better and headed outside to check out the lake... and the fire. What a beautiful girl, on a beautiful night, on a beautiful lake :-)
We even had time to pose for a few pictures with Papa Pizza, Mommy and our cousin, Talon, while we told stories around the fire...
What will we do tomorrow?
