California Adventure - Day 4

Day 4 of our adventure was our "long" day -- a 12 hour Disney marathon to end the Disney portion of our trip!  We still had many characters to see and many rides to try (and re-try!).

Brooke was up early - crawling to the bathroom - and practicing her "trademark" facial expressions in her giraffe PJs.

We has a Magic Morning admission - so we got to head in one hour early.  Kylie and Neela had on their birthday buttons - and everyone wore their "ears".  They were super excited for the day, too!

We barely made it in the gate when we encountered Chip.  He loved to knock off hats and be mischevious.  He noticed the girls' buttons, and asked how old they were!  They are so excited to tell everyone they are 5 (or almost!).

After a walk down Main Street, we headed straight to Peter Pan's Adventure.  We heard the lines for this ride were always long - but it was a ride not to miss.  Everyone got to fly in Peter Pan's ship over London and to Neverland...

Neela & Grandma
From the first day, Neela really wanted to ride Snow White again... so we did... 3 times!  Neela "protected" Kylie when we let them ride alone together.  The ride broke down at the end of the 3rd ride -- or we'd probably still be on it!

Then, it was on to Mr. Toad's cars.  All the girls drove their own cars through all kinds of adventures - even Brooke.  Papa looked a little frightened by Brooke's driving when they got done!

Grandma went back to the front gate to find David and Renee, so we headed further into Fantasyland for more kids rides.  We tried out Dumbo again...

Then, we found the circus train.  We all rode in the "Monkey" car... appropriate?  Most definitely!

When we found Grandma, David and Renee, we headed to Critter Country to find Pooh and his friends.  Brooke found Pooh's ride, but before she could board - Tigger, Pooh and Eyore caught her eye.  We went to get in line to greet them... Pooh and Tigger had to leave to find Eyore - and Brooke practically knocked everyone over trying to get to Pooh before he left.  They came back... and this was one time Brooke was not afraid of the characters!

Waiting for Tigger

Tigger
Eyore did not get the same respect from Pooh... Daddy had to persuade her to get close - and she still was not extremely thrilled.

Then, around the corner, Pooh's Thotful Spot!  Brooke RAN to Pooh!  We're lucky we got one picture of her squeezing him - she was so excited!  She eventually let the rest of the family take a few pictures with her, and her main "squeeze" :-)

After posing, we did ride Pooh's ride -- sitting in the beehive (honey pot) cars... 6 or 7 times!

Then, we journeyed to Frontierland.  We rode on Pirates of the Caribbean - focusing on finding Captain Hook and Captain Morgan (thanks, Papa!), and ignoring the skeletons!  Next, we rode on the River Ride - and caught Jasmine and Aladdin in the garden at the end.  (We didn't miss posing with too many princesses!)

Grandma and Mommy convinced Kylie and Neela to try the Big Thunder Canyon Railroad roller coaster.  They both LOVED the first ride - and Kylie HATED the second ride.  Neela just kept asking for new volunteers to go again, and again, and again!

Daddy took Brooke on a boat cruise to try to get her to rest... she was awake until the boat docked, then it was time for her afternoon siesta in the stroller.  (Neela fit in a few more rides while Brooke napped!)

We headed to ToonTown to find Minnie, but Kylie and Daddy got a little sidetracked.  They took a lot of pictures with Cinderella's castle and Cinderella... and Kylie posed for ALL of them (they wouldn't all fit here!)

We walked into ToonTown, and right into Daisy and Goofy.  Goofy would not leave Mommy alone - and we ended up with all kinds of Goofy poses!

Minnie was finally at her house - we had to wake Brooke up to meet Minnie.  Minnie LOVED our ears - they were just like her's... and they whole family was wearing them!  Brooke was a bit timid, but warmed up to Minnie pretty quickly.

Family Picture - Everyone in Ears!
After posing with Minnie, we headed into her house.  We checked out her bed, kitchen, computer... and refrigerator full of CHEESE!

While in ToonTown, we visited Chip & Dale's house, Donald's boat, tested out Goofy's piano... and found another roller coaster.  Brooke watched Neela go, and wanted to go herself!  So... here we go!  Two crazy roller coaster girls... good thing Mommy and Grandma like roller coasters!

It started to get cool... so we ate supper and did a little shopping with Grandma and Papa.  Grandma and Papa bought us each new sweatshirts (Kylie and Neela got Disneyland ones to match Grandma, and Brooke got a pirate Mickey) and one toy.  Somehow, we each ended up with a Mickey or Minnie stuffed animal for our one toy -- and we LOVE them.  We headed down the street to watch the parade... while we waited we played with Mickey and Minnie.

The parade had all of our favorite characters - but the princess floats were at the top of our list.  Of course, Captain Hook practically kissing Brooke was right up there, too!  (He moved too fast for a good picture!)

From the parade, it was back to California Adventure for the World of Color.  It was very beautiful, but it was pretty obvious we were getting a little tired by that point.  We watched - and enjoyed most of it - but were very happy to head out to our cars at the end!

And... the beds in the hotel were even better!

Night, night all!  Sleep tight, Mickey, Minnie & Pluto!

California Adventure - Day 3

Day 3 of our California Adventure was a day parents' live for... our girls could not have had any better experiences the entire day!

Today was our "princess day".  Mommy and Daddy snuck their Halloween princess dresses (created by Daddy, with help from Mommy, and probably now everywhere on Pinterest) in their suitcases... along with the matching tiaras!  We could not WAIT to get dressed up as princesses, and Neela had to bring Baby Snow White with for the day!

Today, we spent the day at Caliornia Adventure... the "newer" part of Disneyland, featuring most of it's modern day movies and TV shows.  To start, we went to a show about all the Disney Junior characters...  3 very happy girls watched Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Handy Manny, Little Einstein's and Jake & the Neverland Pirates perform on stage.  They danced with them, collected gold coins, popped bubbles, and were estatic for most of the show!

As we walked down the street, we ran into "Jake".  Brooke loves pirates, and LOVES Jake!  This is the first character she RAN to to give a hug!

Then, we went on the Monsters, Inc. ride... looking for the little girl who disappeared in Monsterland.

Our next step was the land of a "Bug's Life".  This was full of rides perfect for little kids - and we rode every single one!

Mommy & Brooke on the Bumper Bugs
Grandma & Kylie on the Flying Takeout Boxes
We happened across Pluto - and Brooke walked right up to him this time!

From there, it was on to our very special lunch at Ariel's Grotto.

We did not know it, but Aunt Renee and Uncle David had arranged a very special birthday present for us -- lunch with the Disney princesses!  We were so excited when the Prince came out to announce each princess, we could hardly eat our food!

Princess Aurora (one of Kylie's favorites)
Princess Belle (one of Neela's favorites)
Princess Cinderella (Kylie's FAVORITE)
Princess Snow White (Neela's FAVORITE!)

Snow White even posed for a picture with our "Sleeping Beauty".  The excitement of the morning wore her out... It's hard work being a princess!

After the princesses left, we had birthday cake!  It came in treasure chests, with mirrors, and chocolate Mickey Mouse ears!  Our first candles for our 5th birthday!

Brooke's favorite ride of the day had to be "Under the Sea" - Ariel's ride.  She rode it 6 or 7 times!  Everyone gets to ride in a seashell through an abbreviated version of Ariel's story... and at the end, you get to wave to Princess Ariel and Prince Eric!  It's just magical!

Walking down the street, we encountered the toy soldiers from Toy Story.  We marched, danced, clapped, saluted, and eventually, were listed as certified toys in the toybox!

We also enjoyed another Toy Story ride - this one was 3D, and your guns worked at the shooting range!  We LOVED it!

As the day went on, our tiaras kept getting in the way... one-by-one, the "adult" princesses took over a tiara from a "little" princess, until the adults were the new princesses :-)

We found a toybox we fit in with Daddy... he had fun posing, we didn't quite know what to do!

As we left the park, we ran into more family favorites... Lightning McQueen and Mater!  Ka-CHOW!

It was time for an old-fashioned dinner with Big Papa's big sister, Margaret, and her family in Newport Beach.  We headed over there for pasta, salad, wine, milk and all the fixings!  It was a great visit... even if Neela slept through everything after dinner from the excitement of the day.  Kylie picked REAL oranges off the orange tree, Brooke entertained, and everyone enjoyed the chance to get to know each other better.

Are you ready for Day 4???
