California Adventure - Day 2

After arriving in California, we were thrilled to spend a night in a hotel with Grandma and Papa -- and to see Aunt Renee and Uncle David.

We were still on "Minnesota" time, and Kylie proved it by waking up at 5 AM California time.  She played on Mommy's iPad for a while - then helped Mommy go by coffee across the street, and open up the breakfast area at 6:30 AM.

At breakfast, Mommy and Daddy had another surprise for us.  We found out we were not just staying in a hotel, we were going to DISNEYLAND!!!

A few clues almost 5-year-old's don't pick up on... the Mickey Mouse in the lobby, the Disney castle photos in the breakfast area, and the Mickey Mouse t-shirts Mommy dressed us in today.

Our Mickey t-shirts were for the "ChEAR" squad for the Tinkerbell 1/2 Marathon.  Aunt Renee ran, and we were her biggest fans!  We had Mickey shirts and clappers - and could not wait to look at her medal with Tinkerbell spinning in it :-)  She did an awesome job - and we are all very proud of her!

After we sent Aunt Renee to celebrate, rest and shower, we headed in to DISNEYLAND!!

Did you know they have fire stations at DisneyLand?
We didn't, but we found it right away and climbed on their old-fashioned truck with Daddy!

After a walk down Main Street, we found THE princess castle!
We did not really want to pose for our first sighting - we wanted to head right in!

For our first ride at Disneyland, we rode on Snow White... even the evil witch did not scare us!
Then, we headed to the merry-go-round -- a traditional favorite of our's.

After a brief stop in Fantsayland to fly on Dumbo, and float on the Fantasy river, we headed to Toon Town.  Guess who and what we found there?

Goofy!!
We loved walking around Toon Town, and checking out all of Mickey, Minnie and their friends' stuff.  We rode on Roger Rabbit's ride, and tried really hard to blow up the entire place with a giant box of TNT.

We wondered through Mickey's house, to his studio...

And... guess who was hanging out in his studio??  Mickey himself!

After a train ride around half of Disneyland, we went back to our hotel for a little break.  Our hotel staff (the Homewood Suites) learned it was our first trip to Disneyland, and left Mickey ears and treats in our room for us.  Daddy and Brooke modeled them right away -- while Neela and Kylie napped (Brooke napped in the stroller!)

We decided to head back to see the evening fireworks... we loved the tram, too!

Once we arrived, we learned the fireworks were cancelled - that was OK... it just meant more rides for us :-)  We rode on a submarine to find Nemo, and Buzz Lightyear's ride to shoot all the alien invaders!

We also got our next surprise from Mommy & Daddy - Mickey Mouse ears for everyone!  Brooke went first - everyone thought she'd pick the pirate ears (Papa Lolliapapa bought those), but she wanted MINNIE!  Then, Neela picked Minnie, Kylie got princess ears, Daddy got traditional Mickey, and Mommy got sparkly ears.

We tried to take a picture, but Brooke was ready for bed!  She wanted to get ready for tomorrow... no more smiles tonight!
