Last Day at New Horizons

The days of riding to "school" with Mommy are at an end, for now!

Brooke will be staying home next week with all of our visiting relatives - and will be spending the summer with her sisters and our nanny.

On her last day, Mommy stopped to buy her a "special" breakfast (doughnuts!), and she brought in treats for her class.

Do you think she knows how different her summer will be?  Her friends and teachers are asking when she will return for a visit -- let's hope we can squeeze in a few for her!!  She loves her school - and her friends :-)

Beach Day

The last Friday of school is Beach Day for the Kindergarten classes!  We had instructions to wear our suits under our clothes to school.  We were going to spend the afternoon playing outside in the water, with chalk, and all kinds of other outdoor fun.

Kylie could not wait to start the day - she even tried on Mommy's pink heels to see if they would make her outfit look better!

Once Neela woke up, she was very excited, too!

And, the swim outfits Sophie's mom bought us are perfect cover-ups to go to school in!!

Sioux City

For Memorial Day, we hit the road for Sioux City!  We had not visited Big Papa and Big Grandma for a while, so a long weekend should give us a few chances to see them and visit with them!

We got their late on Friday, and woke up early Saturday.  Mommy took us with her to Caribou - and we got a special treat!  Kiddie Cocoa!!  We carried them into Panera to buy bagels, and proudly brought them in to Grandma and Papa's house.

When we got home, it was time for our babysitter "event".  Mom, Dad, Grandma and Papa went to the golf course -- and we had LOTS of babysitters!  Uncle Chuckie, Big Papa, Big Grandma, and Uncle John.  We played on our scooters, in the driveway... and with every toy we could find!

On Sunday, we had a private tour of the candy store - and found gifts for our teachers.  We knew they liked some kinds of candy, but it was a process to get the "right" choices made!

Then, we stopped at McDonald's for a little playtime since it was rainy outside.  Afterwards, we had visitors.  Big Papa and Big Grandma came over - and we kept them busy playing cards...

... checkers... Kylie was not victorious over Big Papa...

.... so she called in Neela for help!

After she helped Kylie, Neela went back to playing cards with Grandma...

...and Big Grandma...

... before Brooke decided Big Grandma needed an iPod demonstration!

After teaching Big Grandma, Brooke sat down with Big Papa to eat some candy :-)

We were tired of being inside, so we took our iPods outside to dance to the A-B-C app songs.  We tried all kinds of crazy poses on the deck!

The night, we wanted movie night -- we camped out on Grandma and Papa's bed, and watched 101 Dalmations for the first time!  It was AWESOME!  Of course, Brooke missed most of it -- we'll have to watch it again another time :-)

While Mommy packed the car, we decided to play outside with everything Grandma had.  We used her chalk, and we played with bubbles.  We dumped out all of Grandma's bubbles, so we'll need to get more before we visit next time.

Then, we hit the road home... we were not too sad, because we will see them again in 4 sleeps!

#7

The Jack o' lantern look continues... Neela lost tooth #7 tonight - she pulled it out all by herself!!  If she keeps this up, who knows how she will eat sweet corn this summer??  Hopefully, they grow back quickly!

Terrick turns 4!

Kylie still was not feeling well, so Mommy, Neela and Brooke headed even further West on Sunday to Plato, Minnesota.  We were heading to Aunt Mouse (Lois) and Uncle Mark's house for Mommy's cousin, Bailey's, bridal shower.

We barely left our neighborhood before Mommy thought we should stop and take pictures in front of pretty flowers... because Grandma Banana always made Mommy do that!

When we got to Plato, our NEW cousins, Terrick and Talon, were waiting for us!  They officially became part of the family on Friday, and this was the first time we got to see them to celebrate.  Of course, Terrick's birthday was quickly approaching - so it was time for a Curious George 4th Birthday celebration!  Aunt Heidi had masks, bubbles, and party blowers for all of us.

Grandma Banana has to make a few more cakes now, too... but she does not mind!!  Terrick had a George cake, complete with a banana!  We all helped sing to Terrick...

...but we did our best to let Terrick blow out his own candles!

Even though it was chocolate cake, Neela seemed to enjoy it!  It must have been Grandma's frosting that we can never get enough of :-)

Then, we helped Terrick test out his birthday gifts... the chalk, scooter, fishing pole...

After the birthday party, we did eventually make it to the shower -- even though we really wanted to keep playing with our cousins!  We played party games, and ate dessert.  Grandma saved us dessert with our favorite fruits - she gave us "to go" bags of candy for the ride home, and sent home some extras for Kylie, too!!

(Did you know brown frosting does not easily come out of white carpet?? Maybe we should save hot dogs and chocolate cake for the SECOND meal!)

Brooke's Dancersize Recital

Brooke has participated in Dancersize at New Horizons since her FIRST day there!  She danced every Wednesday with some of her classmates at school, and the recital was a "metro-wide" recital at the Wayzata Community Center.  Everyone in the house had been sick all week, except Kylie, and she got it Friday night. Kylie and Daddy were not going anywhere, so they did not infect anyone!  Neela went to a play date... and Mommy, Grandma Candy and Papa Lollipapa headed West for the "big" dance!

Brooke did get dressed up and show he moves in the living room before we left...

When we got to Wayzata, Brooke needed to stretch for a few minutes before we dropped her off.  She did even MORE posing on the bench and with Mom.

Then, she walked in with Grandma and Papa.

We left Brooke by the locker room, and went to find seats.  Brooke was in the middle of the program.  Can you guess when she found us in the audience?

Their second song was "I don't want to go bed..."  How appropriate!!  Brooke was interviewed, and told everyone she NEVER wants to go to bed.  Even as the star of the show, some things cannot be changed!

Afterwards, Grandma and Papa took Brooke out for ice cream before she fell asleep on the drive home!

She definitely was a dancing star all day!

Happy Mother's Day!!

We were sneaky for Mother's Day!  Daddy helped us pose in the letters...

"M"

"O"

"M"

... to make Mommy a really neat card!  Of course, we added a picture of Cy to the card, too:

We topped off our gifts by getting Mommy flowers from Tara's flower shop... she knows exactly what to do when we walk in the door... straight to the cooler!

We did "cheat" a little this time!  We asked Mommy to show us her favorite flowers on the computer in the morning, so we knew exactly what to look for when we went shopping :-)

We also went to breakfast at Vinnie's!  Kylie's new favorite restaurant, and Mommy loves their breakfast menu now, too!

Mother's Day did not end quite as well... Mommy got our germs, and ended up pretty sick throughout the night.  We hope she gets better soon!
