A lot has been going on in the last few weeks. Let's start with all the fun we had at Easter on the farm!
We got to the farm on Friday afternoon - with plenty of time to play in the playhouse Papa has been building for us. We also got to check out his calves and his baby chickens. What a switch! Kylie decided the animals were great - and Neela ran away. Not to be outdone, Cy got all "tough guy" on the calves - and scared them into the back wall with his barking. Papa decided to wait to get a new puppy - for a while :-)

On Saturday, we had a very busy day. First, Kylie woke up early enough to help Papa and Aunt Heidi feed the calves and chicks again - she even went IN the chicks pen and picked them up. Kylie also helped stir the milk for the calves - and managed to put her entire hand in the bucket... this sent Aunt Heidi back to the house for new gloves - but Kylie had FUN! Then, it was on to Grandma Arlene's for cookies, M&M's and a visit... she loves having us come to her house! We played with her doll (from when she was little), and her frog decorations. We also got to see Tim, Julie, Steph and Haley on their way to a basketball tournament for Steph.
When we came home, Grandma and Mommy made us take a nap BEFORE we could go outside. The Easter bunny came a day early and hid all kinds of eggs outside! We found about 60 eggs (or more) total - with money, candy and socks in them! They were all over the farm - we even wore our barn boots so we could go in all the mud. Aunt Heidi had to hose off our boots so we could take them back in the house.
After the Easter egg hunt, we got to dye Easter eggs. We dropped them in the colors so hard, we cracked quite a few - but we had a LOT of fun!
We had a debate if we should go to church or not - the evening service was not until 8 PM -- our bedtime. We won - and we got to go! We looked cute in our purple dresses from Grandma E., and our Easter hats from Great-Grandma E.
Of course, church was not without incident. You see, at Catholic masses, they shut off all the lights and light candles on the night before Easter. Neela proceeded to swat Mommy in the face and neck with Mommy's unlit candle until it was BROKEN! Then, she went to visit Grandma - and did the same thing! Being the observant children we are, we noticed the "Fire", "Light", "Candles" and "Baby" on the alter. Neela also clapped and say "Yay" for Fr. Paul when he finished singing! Of course, we both had our "glory" moments. Kylie went to Grandma and said "Hot - sweater off!"... so Grandma took her sweater off. Then, Kylie said - "Grandma, Dress Off" - and put her arms in the air. Kylie had to go back to Uncle Tony's lap before she would quit asking for her dress off (this made Aunt Angie very proud - seeing how much Aunt Angie likes dresses and all!!). Not to be outdone, Neela announced to the entire church (when it was dead quiet) - "Baby Mommy's Tummy". We've been working on this for a while, but now was NOT the time to figure it out! She is right - there is a baby in there - only one - and it should be here in late September. To top that off... "Heidi's button", "Heidi's shirt", "Heidi's boobies"... oh the joys of learning new words!!
Sunday morning, Neela woke up with pink eye -- and we have now both recovered! We also got to find MORE eggs - the Easter bunny left us a note "Thanks for all the pretty eggs" - and we carried it around ALL day. We also found our Easter baskets - they looked like Elmo! Neela was very helpful - she found everyone's basket, and kept giving it back to them until they put it in their bedroom.
Back at home, we watched Mommy & Daddy finish getting the house ready to sell. The sign should go up in the next few days. We also went "shopping" for "Mommy's Car" -- Mommy's going to get a minivan (not by her choice - but the baby wants it!), Daddy gets the Murano, and the Grand Prix is going away.
We finally got to see Aunt Angie's new house this week - it's a very cute work in progress, but we love her yard -- and so did Cy. We drew her pictures with our sidewalk chalk, and then had lunch at the coffee shop across the street (they have a water tower AND a sandbox). We can't wait to go back.
On Friday, we had our two year appointments. At 26 months, Neela weighs 26.5 lbs and is 34.5 inches tall - the 50th percentile for her age. Kylie weighs 27.5 lbs and is 34 inches tall - the 75th percentile for her age. Isn't it amazing what a difference a few ounces make on the growth chart??
It's raining today - we've been keeping Mommy and Daddy busy, and took a nap on our Elmo couches (instead of in our cribs). Daddy let us :-)
Have a great weekend!
