Our First State Fair

Mommy took the afternoon off work to take the "big girls" to their first state fair.  Of course, the day before, they had learned all about it from Jack's adventure -- so they knew about riding the bus, the animals and the Midway.

What did we do?  We started in the Horticulture building, then headed to the International Bazaar, where we finally found Daddy's sign -- "Welcome to Daddy's Paradise - Doesn't Get Better Than This" -- for Daddy's patio.

After that, we headed to the Dairy Building to get our ice cream and see the butter princesses.  Mommy did not try to explain that she was almost a butter princess -- we're saving that for another year!  We also started to watch the parade before our first bathroom break :-)

Next, it was on to the Miracle of Birth Center.  We saw baby chicks, sheep, bunnies, piglets and calves.  We tried to pet all of them!  The power went out while we were there - but it didn't matter!

Our next stop was the Dairy Barn...  "Mommy, it smells very awful in here!"  (Mommy thought it smelled a little like home!)  Papa thought the girls should visit the Moo Booth -- and they knew just what to do with the cows -- Papa taught them well, and they wanted pictures to show Papa!

We walked through the Horse Barn, then the DNR building and Food Building.  Mommy couldn't convince the girls to try cheese curds!  Then, we took a wrong turn and ended up next to the Kiddie Midway.  We got to go on one ride -- and Kylie didn't make it to the end... But she kept telling everyone it was so much fun!  Of course, our wild child, Neela, made it to the end -- and would have kept right on going if they let her!!

Heading south again, we walked past the Rainbow Play Systems display - and made a pitstop for sliding and climbing, before getting our last snack of the day -- funnel cake!  Neela didn't care too much for it, but Kylie's sweet tooth loved holding it all the way back to Angie's driveway!

We can't wait until we're 4 - so we can go to the fair again!
