Little Angels Field Trip

Parents get the opportunity to chaperone one field trip per year (we only have a few), and it was Mommy's turn to chaperone for us!  We headed to the Maplewood Nature Center (just North of Mommy's work) to learn all about nature in the world around us.

Before we left, we practiced our letters using the "Wheel of Letters".  We all had a turn spinning the wheel.  When the wheel stopped, we either had to identify the letter - and a word the letter starts with, or do the action on the triangle.

Kylie stopped on the letter "I"...

Neela had to hop on one foot 5 times...

... and Mommy had to hop in a circle two times!!

Then, the parents learned who was in their groups, and we climbed on the bus to go to the Nature Center.

We LOVED the bus, and Mommy loved this picture of us.

When we got to the Nature Center, we watched a play about all the animals we could see there.  Then, we got to explore the inside activities - including the puppet theaters, skeletons, and SNAKES!

We headed outside to walk the trails, and have a scavenger hunt for all kinds of things... duck food, ants, goslings, POOP!!, and a few other things.

We did find the duck food...

Learned how to make reeds into whistles...

..and found a "Jack in the Pulpit" flower!

After our hike, we had a picnic lunch - and explored the shelters and mazes at the Nature Center.  When we got back to school, we all took pictures with our chaperones and teachers.

We waited in our classroom for a few minutes, then had our last day of Soccer Shots!  We really learned a lot of soccer moves through games like "Nemo" and "Cookie Monster".

It was a very fun day... we went to Tracy's to rest after soccer, then had a play date and supper at Jack's (more about that later!).
