The Thursday before Mother's Day, Mommy started to get sick. She made it to work and an awards' ceremony, but Friday went down hill... She spent a lot of time in bed - while we had movie night with Daddy and a sleepover in our tents in the basement. (Brooke has her own tent now... she got it from Elli!)
Saturday, she still did not feel great - but she wanted to try to play with us anyway... especially because Daddy had all kinds of fun things planned for Mother's Day. We had our normal Saturday breakfast - and Brooke even got Elmo and Minnie into helping get ready for the day.
Then, we went shopping for Mom - and bought her all kinds of flowers and decorations for the front porch, including her favorite Gerbera daisies! Daddy made steak with mushrooms for supper (one of Mommy's favorites), then we had a bonfire with s'mores outside. We had s'mores with fruit flavors, and plain ones, and the grown-ups used some Ghiradelli chocolate squares in their's!
On Sunday, we let Mommy sleep so she might get better... and then we brought her favorite coffee for breakfast :-) We also gave her the rest of her presents... new PJs from all of us, in our favorite colors!!
It stayed a pretty low-key day, since Mommy still was not feeling great - but she enjoyed all of our love, thoughtful gifts, help and letting her rest the most of all :-)
