Friday night, Kylie couldn't fall asleep (this often happens when she naps during the day). She came outside and enjoyed Cory's bug zapper, looking at the stars, looking for lightning bugs, and watching the moon. She sang... "Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight..."
Saturday, we helped Cory make pancakes then played around the house for a while before Mommy & Aunt Heidi took Kylie and Neela to a park. After the park, we went to lunch with our football friends - the Simodynes and Grimes families. We rode in our van, but Heidi and Cory rode on their Orange Harley. Neela had so much fun watching for the motorcycle. She even told Mommy her car was orange (Mommy said, "No, it's green" - and Neela said, "No, I'm tending Mommy!"). We had lunch at the Upstream Brewing Company - and got to play Ms. PacMan with Heidi and Cory while everyone else finished eating.
After lunch, we went to Rick & Becky's house to play and watch some golf. Heidi and Cory went home to take a nap! We especially liked their "hopping rocks" (paving stones to the deck), playing soccer in the house with Adam and Ben, playing with Fozzy (the GOlden Retriever's toys), playing ball in the basement, "napping in the hammock", and watching Brooke sample her first mouthful of dirt (Mommy was helping Neela eat, and didn't get there fast enough!).
Saturday night, we headed to Bluffs Run to watch a few dog races. We got to see the dogs with daddy, and we picked our own numbers to win. Daddy was doing his research - and a little copycat was watching VERY closely! When we took our bath Saturday night, we got to use the Cars bubble bath and Lightning McQueen towels Heidi had for us!
On Sunday, we helped Cory make eggs - then we FINALLY got to "Heidi's Zoo". "Mommy, if Angie has 2 zoos, and Heidi has one zoo - why don't you have any zoos? Can Heidi share her zoo with you?" At the Omaha Zoo, we headed directly to see the otters - Ollie and Oscar. (Ollie and Oscar are the otters in a Diego espisode - and one of our current favorites when we pretend.) We spent the first 20 minutes watching the otters before we saw bears, tigers, birds, apes, elephants, rhinos...
One of the apes came and sat right in front of us while we were looking through the window!
Daddy let us go on the merry-go-round - Kylie rode Mama Jaguar (another Diego thing) and Neela rode the pony!
Heidi and Cory watched Brooke so we could go for a train ride. Daddy even bought us popcorn to ride on the train.
Brooke enjoyed the umbrellas on the tables - notice we had to change clothes at the Zoo -- and it wasn't from lunch!!
Sunday night, we saw the fish at BassPro Outdoor World - and found stuffed otters. (We don't know it yet - but Daddy bought them for us!!). After that, we went to the "car bar" (Quaker Steak & Lube) for dinner in race cars. We had chicken and fries in paper race cars - and looked at the cars and bikes on the ceiling, and the TV in the floor.
When we got home, we FINALLY got a chance to sit on Cory's Orange bike. He wouldn't take us for a ride - but we were thrilled anyway!
On Monday, Cory made us Tigger & Pooh waffles - then it was time to head home. Mommy brought Brooke some stars-and-stripes to wear in honor of our veterans, so we had to take a picture in "Heidi's Flag Room" with our favorite veteran. Of course, Mommy forgot Kylie and Neela's flag clothes!
