A SPOOK-tacular Weekend!

It was 48 hours of Halloween FUN at the Estochen's this weekend!

Friday night, we started with a Jack O' Latern pizza from Papa Murphy's... then, it was on to pumpkin carving!  We could not wait to get started.  We helped clear the table, lay out the newspapers, and bring out pumpkins on to the paper.

Then, Daddy helped us cut the "hats" off the top.  We each had different views of how much "fun" it would be to stick our hands inside the pumpkin... Mommy told us it was like playing in the dirt and sand, and pulling out a few worms... one girl thought that was AWESOME... can you guess which one??

Kylie asked for a spooky face with triangle eyes, a triangle nose, and 3 teeth...

Then there was Neela... she thought cleaning with a spoon was a great idea!

Daddy ended up doing quite a bit of work on Neela's pumpkin (inside & out!).  Neela asked for a pumpkin with triangle eyes, a triangle nose, and 100 teeth... do you think Daddy found a way to add 100 teeth??

Brooke inspected Daddy and Neela's handy work...

When it was Brooke's turn...

...she didn't like the insides much better than Neela...

Brooke didn't make too many requests for her pumpkin, but her sisters and Daddy gave her LOTS of ideas!

When we finally finished them all, it was time to inspect... they turned out great!

On Saturday, we started off with orange pancakes!  Then, Daddy raked the yard, Mommy cleaned the closets, and we helped outside more than in!  We played in the leaves, helped clean up leaves, helped with a few things in the house... then took naps.  Saturday night, we were going to our first Halloween party!  We couldn't wait - and did NOT want to be tired!!  After we ate our supper, we got all dressed up...

Kylie wanted to be a firefighter, Neela a "fairy princess", and Brooke a "fire princess" (somehow, we got her to just firefighter for Saturday night!).  Daddy (and Mommy) made Neela's dress - it turned out pretty cute.  Kylie and Brooke also have dresses like this (a Cinderella for Kylie, and Ariel for Brooke), but they preferred to honor their fire hero :-)  Grandma Banana found Brooke's jacket, and the boots for both girls, at Mills' Fleet Farm... where else?... and the red slippers and tiara were also from Grandma.

At the party, we ate some snacks, played "toss the pumpkin", bobbed for apples, sang karoke (only Daddy did!), and went for a hayride.  Daddy skipped the hayride, and Brooke fell in love with a "cowboy" and "cookie monster" on the hayride -- she kept looking for them for the rest of the night, and all day Sunday, too!  When we got too cold, we watched Halloween movies in the house.

Sunday, we started with breakfast and baking pumpkin muffins.  Then, we ran a few errands - we have some more road trips coming up.  When we got home, our friend, Reardon, and his family left us some signs about the upcoming football game.  Reardon is a Patriots' fan, and we are Steelers' fans, and they were playing each other!  We had to ask a million questions about both teams, but it was a lot of fun to cheer today!  Before the game, Mommy and Neela headed to a "spooky wooky" concert (Neela's favorite holiday is Halloween -- and Mommy pretty much believes her!), Daddy and Kylie made enchiladas, and Brooke took a nap.  After the concert, it was all eyes on the game... Kylie even called Reardon to tell him "Take a look at the Steelers", and Brooke chimed in with "Go Steeler Ladies".  Of course, the Steelers pulled off the victory - and we had to return the favor with signs of our own... "Boo Patriots, Go Steelers!"  We even added a Patriots player with an "X" through him... all on our own!  Papa Lollipapa, Big Papa, and Daddy were VERY proud!!

At bedtime, all we could talk about was Halloween!  We get to wear costumes to preschool, have Sophie over for supper (more orange and pumpkin pancakes), then we are doing some serious trick-or-treating!!

Happy Halloween!
