The First Guggisberg Christmas in Fargo!!

Brooke was the first one at the Christmas Party, but she soon had company!  On Friday, Mommy, Daddy, Kylie and Neela arrived... followed quickly by Aunt Angie, Aunt Heidi, Uncle Cory and their kids.  (Uncle Tony is already IN Fargo!)

The evening started uneventfully with pizza and the "melting indoor snowman"... Uncle Tony tried to read Brooke a few stories (that didn't work), then Kylie threw up (she really is like Mommy - Mommy was sick all the time at Christmas at a kid...)

Everyone woke up Saturday morning - everyone except maybe Mommy and Grandma who heard every one of Kylie's coughs all night long!  Coffee was needed for them to start their day... good thing Grandma and Papa's new house is so close to Caribou!  The kids were all VERY excited... they found the stockings when they arrived, and Grandma had PILES of gifts under the tree!!  They could not wait to finish breakfast so they could open... excpet they were not supposed to open then...

Can't you see how excited the 3-year-olds are about presents??

So... with a little persuasion (Aunt Heidi is as crazy about presents as the kids!), ONE gift was allowed before lunch!  For this round, gifts were opened by height... the shortest went first.

And... here comes the wrapping paper jungle... First, Brooke opened Kit...

Then, Kylie opened Julie...

and, last... Neela opened Marie-Grace.  (She has "Marie" in her name, just like me!!)

Neela really, really, really wanted an American Girl doll... and she had to wait the longest!! Of course, Grandma did a great job finding dolls that looked like all 3 girls! Kit had short blonde hair and brown eyes, Julie has blonde hair and brown eyes, and Marie-Grace had brown hair and blue eyes.

Then... on to the "taller" people!  (Mommy loves the idea of being tall...)

Daddy needed help opening his chainsaw:

All the kids really enjoyed Grandma's indoor melting snowman... they put him together, and he melted... they put him together, and he melted... they put him together, and he melted... do you see a theme??

After lunch, Mommy took a nap.  Aunt Angie and Grandma made cutout sugar cookies with all the kids.  They all did great... everyone had a job, from rolling dough to cutting cookies to adding a 'few' sprinkles... and Papa was the taste tester!

After the cookies, everyone played with their new toys...  Neela convinced Papa to start her "Chapter Book" about "Marie-Grace".  He even put in a bookmark so Mommy would not have to read that chapter again!

Daddy led all the kids in a game of 'Simon Says..." and the 3-year-olds managed to find another reason to laugh, giggle, tackle, and tickle each other!

Of course, all that playing and travel can be a bit tiring.  Brooke sat on Mommy's lap, and fell asleep, so Mommy decided another nap could be good, too :-)

Then... it was time for lasagne... and MORE PRESENTS!!

Brooke's new Hello Kitty crocs:

Uncle Cory was helping pass out gifts... look were he put Mommy's:

Aunt Angie did some pretty creative wrapping using pop boxes... it was a bit confusing... but then we found our "track makers" inside!

Grandma also was a bit creative with her wrapping paper... do you know many 3-year-olds who get Victoria's Secret?  Brooke loved the pink 'wrapping' for her new pink Children's Place shirt :-)

Uncle Tony bought the girls matching footie PJs... they all wanted new footie PJs!!

....but maybe the most fun of all... Uncle Tony was able to get a limo to drive around and look at lights!!

Uncle Tony was the driver - and we all had LOTS of questions for him!

Aunt Angie wanted a picture with all of us... it sort-of worked:

When we went through the park, Kylie was able to ride in the front... then we drove to several more neighborhoods... and the kids could not stop talking about "Uncle Tony's Truck!"

Cy also has a new friend who watched out for him... another kiddo who is "just his size!"

On Sunday, we sang the Berger song... made our Christmas Wish (thank you, Brooke!), did a few exchanges... and headed home.  It was a lot of fun to see our family - and to have all the room to play in Grandma and Papa's new house!!
