First Day of Kindergarten!!!

It was a VERY BIG day at the Estochen house!  Kylie and Neela were heading to KINDERGARTEN!!

We set the alarm for 6:30, talked about getting dressed right away (they did), combing our hair and brushing our teeth (they did), eating breakfast - bagels, at their request... and we were ready 30 minutes before the bus :-)  Plenty of time for pictures!!

So... here's Neela with her backpack, dress from Aunt Renee and Uncle David, and Bella Ballernia tennis shoes (they spin - just ask Mom!)...

... not to be outdone... Kylie wore her purple dress from Grandma Candy and Papa Lollipapa... and her new Bella Ballerina shoes... did we mention they spin??

... all three girls got into some posing action...

...but did let Mommy take one 'nice' picture before we headed out the door!

Of course, Brooke was pretty upset she didn't get a backpack... so she found one in the toyroom (and loves that it is "teeny"), then put on her new pretty dress from Grandma Candy and Papa Lollipapa, and posed, too!!

Then, we headed down the street to wait for the bus... there are 6 kindergartners in our 3 blocks... and they were all THRILLED to be getting on the bus... a few nerves, but general excitement!  Neela made sure to give kissing hands to Mommy & Daddy, and blow Mommy a LOT of kisses from the bus.  She was worried when she saw Mommy's tears!  Neela sat in the front seat with Addie, and Kylie sat on the other side of the bus with Brandon... we are so lucky to have so many kids on our block who will watch out for us!

Then.. Mommy and Daddy followed the bus to school!  All the Kindergartners lined up outside... then we walked in together, before splitting up into our own class sections.

This picture has 4 of us from our block right in front - Neela, Sydney, Addie and Kylie... and maybe Sam and Will are in there somewhere!

We found our "pictures" on sticks, then found our nametags on the floor...

...and off we went!  We could not stop talking about all we learned - and all the people we met - on our first day!  Kids Club with Jack... Addie teaching Neela an easier way to do the monkey bars... quesadillas for lunch being "complicated"... having to find our seats, our names, and remember our lunch codes... it was a VERY busy first day!

Meanwhile, Brooke got to spend the day with Mommy... we made a pitstop at Starbucks... Uncle David and Aunt Renee were proud :-)  It's MILK, not coffee!!!

Then, we took Brooke to her new school to check it out...

She liked the hula hoops and teeter-totter way more than the classroom :-)  Mommy is excited to have her close by - she will be across the street from many of Mommy's meetings, so Mommy can drop in a LOT!!

After that, we headed to the Maplewood Nature Center... we got some amazing pictures -- so much so, we might not need to take her 3 year pictures... and when we do, Mommy thinks we found THE outfit for Brooke!

Next, we had lunch with some of Mommy's co-workers at Culvers... Mark has the same birthday as Brooke, and loved sharing his birthday with Brooke.  Brooke loved the fact that Mark helped her eat ice cream!!  When we left, Brooke made Dave move to the front seat - she wanted Mark, and the ice cream, close to her!  Then, we went to Mommy's building for Mark's anniversary party... and she finally decided Dave was OK when he helped her with the Winnie the Pooh Birthday Game on Mommy's iPad... then Bill helped her... then she passed out pirate beads for everyone... danced around, and went home with the balloons from the party :-)  She also shared her pirate decorations with EVERYONE -- they all got beads!!

Brooke crashed two minutes after getting in the car, and did not wake up for 2 1/2 hours.  She loved her Mommy time - and meeting Mommy's friends :-)

The night ended with our first round of homework, an accident from potty training, a little shopping for jeans, and a whole lot of happiness!  The girls were so excited from every part of the day - everything, including eating supper, was hard to sit still for!  Sleep tight all!
