Visiting the Apple Orchard

Daddy had a golf tournament, and Brooke's daycare had an "Apple Orchard" adventure planned at Aamodt's Apple Farm in Stillwater... so Mommy called her friend, Julie, and we headed to Aamodt's on a beautiful fall afternoon!

When we arrived, Brooke was sleeping... We loaded Brooke in the stroller, and began walking to the orchard.  Before we got to the gate, Kylie and Neela found apples and apple trees to pose with!

Once we got inside, we walked around to the back orchard.  To pick apples, you needed to purchase a bag.  Mommy thought the 1/4 peck bag looked REALLY small for 3 girls to pick, so she bought the full peck bag... Julie, and her daughter, Erin, arrived just as we got our bag.

We headed into the orchard to pick Haralson's... and we picked a bunch!  We wanted to pick apples off the ground, but Mommy, Julie and Erin would not let us.  Erin ended up with "apple police" duty - she checked every apple we picked to make sure it was "good"... no holes, no bruises, no worms... and helped keep all the "bad" apples out :-)  We learned how to find the apples ON the trees... and enjoyed picking them.

Of course, those REALLY tall apples looked REALLY good (at least to Erin, the basketball player - and to little girls, who are close to the ground, looking up)...  We convinced Mommy and Erin to lift us up, so we could pick... and pick we did!!

Mommy made us stop for one picture with her... we really wanted to keep picking apples :-)

When our bag was full, it was heavy.  Brooke wanted to walk, so we used the stroller to "help" with the apples.  Don't the apples make "cute" babies???

We walked towards the activities, through the vineyards.  We convinced Julie and Erin to carry us - Brooke rode on Mommy - and we looked for grapes along the way.  There were tiny bunches all over the place, but none that were in "picking" condition.  We want to go back and help with the winery's grape harvest... soon!

There were plenty of activities for us to try out... first, we rode in barrels behind the tractor...

Then, we found Brooke's teacher, Ms. Angel, and climbed in the maze.  The sign said not to climb, but everyone was... and we love to climb!

After a quick break, we went and found dessert!  Ice cream for kids, and apple treats for grown-ups...

Then, we went to Julie's house for a break... we watched a movie and had popcorn, Mommy and Julie had wine, and Erin got ready for a big party!  She looked so pretty, we wanted to dress up just like her!

On the way home, we saw hot air balloons everywhere.  Mommy stopped just so we could see them... they were beautiful - we cannot wait to watch them more.

It was a perfect fall day... with perfect fall activities :-)
