The Great Minnesota Get Together 2012

After the "big" party, Neela could NOT wait to go to the State Fair... and she recruited a bunch of family members to go with her... Mommy, Daddy, Papa Pizza, Grandma Banana, Papa Lollipapa, Grandma Candy, Uncle Tony, Kylie and Brooke...  we parked at Aunt Angie's, and started walking to the fairgrounds.  We love Angie's parking location :-)

After walking through the gates, the first stop we made was at Marge's ice cream stand.  Kylie got chocolate, Neela got strawberry, Brooke got vanilla, and Grandma Candy got pecan...

Uncle Tony had to "help" Brooke get into the spirit of the fair - she was a bit tired after her party...

Next, we headed to the children's area of the Fairgrounds... we checked out Minnesota authors...

... made some ABC artwork...

... and Neela even made a "name" necklace with some help from Grandma....

Brooke and Tony checked out the "Mr. Bubble" display, decided it looked to messy, and went looking for Pronto Pups with Papa... Brooke enjoyed them, but so did Tony and Papa.

While the Pronto Pups settled, we begged to go to the Midway...

We tried out the airplanes...

... waited, and waited, for the Mermaids...

... then walked over to the "little" Ferris Wheel... we thought about the big one, but Kylie thought the "little" one looked a little more fun, and a little less scary!

... then Neela really wanted to ride a roller coaster, and Kylie and Brooke REALLY did not...
...so Kylie rode the dinosaur with Brooke...

...and Neela went straight to the closest thing that resembled a "roller coaster", and had a blast!

We found a "pirate ride" - the sign said it was not "scary"... but Brooke did not like it too much.

Next, Neela wanted to try an obstacle course...

... and Kylie, Brooke and Mommy rode the Merry-Go-Round...

... then, it was on to more fun!  We all found "chicken" hats from Golden Plump...

Then, Brooke got a little tired... but she did not mind if Uncle Tony held her :-)

The big girls waited in line with Daddy and Papa Lollipapa to try their hand at fishing in the Gander Mountain booth... the line took FOREVER...

...and we're pretty sure Papa and Daddy wanted to catch a fish as much, or more, than we did!  While everyone else waited, the found some cheese curds, a pronto pup, and ate a bunch of "fair food".

Then, it was on to more food... for everyone... for lunch.  All 3 girls decided on pronto pups... but they looked yummy as all kinds of fair food!

After lunch, we split up.  Brooke was still asleep, so Daddy, Grandma Candy and Papa Lollipapa took her, and searched for all kinds of "fair food" before making a choice.

Kylie and Neela went with Mommy, Grandma Banana and Papa Pizza to the barns... with a little side stop for SnoCones!  Who knew they were THIS red, and THIS messy!

In the "Miracle of Birth" center, we checked out every animal.. and Papa showed us how to climb fences, look inside, put our hands inside, and generally learn a lot about being "farm kids".

Then, at the Moo Booth, we met a REAL Princess -- Princess Kay of the Milky Way, to be exact!  We LOVED her crown, and listened to her entire presentation about living on a farm.

Then, we headed to the cows to prove we still remembered a few things Papa Pizza and Mommy showed us about cows.  Of course, if you try to put a milker on like this under a real cow, you "might" have a problem!

... and you can't leave the "Moo Booth" without a little glass of milk or some ice cream... so white milk for Neela, chocolate milk for Kylie, and strawberry ice cream for Grandma!

Meanwhile, Brooke found some new "friends" to pose with at the Fair... and helped Papa Lollipapa find beer, on a stick, of course!

We ended our fair adventure with a few sore feet, and a few girls (ALL THREE!) getting rides from Mom, Dad, Papa, the stroller... you name it!

Our legs seemed to regain strength at Angie's... we put on our swimsuits, and played in the slip and slide for an hour or more... had a water gun fight with Angie's neighbors... then headed home, to bed, to CRASH!!

Another "get together" done for another year!
